The following is a quick-read story treatment about Rolph, the character introduced in Army of Thieves, and his life before meeting Gwendoline's heist crew.
The story takes place in and around a large housing estate in Birmingham, U.K. in the autumn of 2016. While part of the broader city, the estate functions as a contained community, creating a general sense of social familiarity akin to a small town with the atmosphere of the big city. The estate borders a partially-abandoned industrial complex.
