California was a southwestern state in the United States of America that bordered Nevada. Most of the main characters in Army of the Dead lived here prior to the events of the movie.

The Las Vegas Quarantine Center was established in Barstow to ensure the safety of the outer world when zombies took over Las Vegas. After the zombie wars, many of the Las Vengeance crew moved to California to restart their lives.[1]
