The International Criminal Police Organization, more simply known as Interpol, is an international crime fighting agency supporting police cooperation across country borders. An Interpol team chased Gwendoline's heist crew throughout Army of Thieves.

History[]

Banque PCU

Gwendoline Starr robs Banque PCU and earns her Red Notice

When Gwendoline Starr was seventeen, Interpol issued her a Red Notice for a bank robbery she committed at Banque PCU. She later started a heist crew, and Interpol would chase her across five bank robberies within a four-year period. During one of these robberies, Brad Cage, a member of the crew, shot Interpol agent Vincent Delacroix in the upper thigh, permanently affecting his mobility. Korina Dominguez was another member of the heist team that had been identified by Interpol.

Shortly after Las Vegas was struck with a zombie plague, Gwendoline's team made a new move: They robbed the Rheingold safe kept at Premiere Credit des Batignolles in Paris. While his partner, Beatrix, was more interested in jobs related to the zombie apocalypse, Delacroix was focused on catching Brad and Gwen. He found them on camera leaving the scene, and knew that they'd likely continue their heists from the Rheingold to the other Ring Cycle safes designed by Hans Wagner. Their next target would be the Valkyrie. Bly Tanaka was having the Ring Cycle safes moved to Geneva, so Delacroix knew they'd have to act fast. The Valkyrie heist had to be the next day.

Delacroix waited with his team at the NPIB Prague branch that housed the Valkyrie, but got anxious and entered the branch, believing the heist team must already be inside. As it turned out, the bank had traded their safe to a more prestigious NPIB Prague branch. He rushed to the larger branch, but was too late. Local police gave chase, but everyone escaped. Delacroix took his team to the final location, Bly's Casino in St. Moritz. They managed to tune into Gwen's radio signals and learned that they planned to go for the Siegfried during the shift change at the Bly at 5:00 A.M.

Beatrix suggested working with the casino, but if the casino got spooked and moved the time of the transfer, Gwen would lose her reason to put herself in Interpol's path, so he refused. The time came, and Interpol entered the casino, only to find that Gwen's team had alerted the casino of the threat themselves, and the casino had indeed moved up the time of transfer. The news hit Delacroix hard, but they went back outside and caught Korina out on the street. Beatrix convinced her to sell out Gwen and Sebastian, and they headed toward the location of Gwen's exit strategy.

Interpol finds Brad and Rolph

Interpol agents find Brad Cage and Rolph

Along the way they found Brad Cage and Rolph tethered to the Siegfried's truck on the side of the road and they arrested them. While the rest of the team took care of that, Delacroix hurried ahead to cut off Gwen, which he just barely managed to do. He and Gwen entered into a standoff, each pointing their gun at the other. Gwen offered Delacroix a bag of money, but he refused. Realizing she had no way out of it she agreed to surrender if Sebastian was let free.

Delacroix refused, but Gwen insisted that she'd shoot him, and pointed out that she was the one he wanted. It was true, and letting Sebastian go was Delacroix's best scenario, so he told Sebastian that he'd never seen him. Sebastian drove the boat away as Delacroix arrested Gwendoline, securing two of the three bags of stolen money - the ones that had yet to be loaded onto the boat.[1]

Trivia[]

  • While Interpol in the Armyverse sends agents out into the field, the real world organization provides tools to support local investigations rather than leading investigations of their own. Red Notice, which is loosely connected to the Armyverse via the Criminal Support Group crossover, also features Interpol field agents.
