Laura Ward was the mother of Kate Ward and wife of Scott Ward until she was bitten by a zombie and was put down by her husband. She was portrayed by Colby Lemmo in a flashback in Army of the Dead.
Biography[]
At some point Laura married Scott Ward, and the two had a daughter. She was later bitten by a zombie during the outbreak in Las Vegas. Scott was forced to stab her in the head in their home as she clawed at her own daughter's door. Scott would find it hard to spend time with his daughter afterwards, being reminded of his wife and feeling that his daughter blamed him for losing her mother. A rift would grow between the two that wouldn't be repaired for years.[1]

- Zombie physiology: As a shambler, Laura's body was more resilient to physical trauma.
- Infection manipulation: As a shambler, Laura's bite could convert others to shamblers.
