- Sandro Botticelli: Ludwig Dieter mentioned Botticelli's famous Madonna of the Magnificat when initially recruited to the Götterdämmerung heist.
19th century[]
- Richard Wagner: Richard Wagner was Hans Wagner's inspiration for the latter's masterpiece safes, which were named for the former's opera, Der Ring des Nibelungen.
- Pat McCarran: Senator Patrick Anthony McCarran was the namesake of McCarran International Airport, and by extension, McCarran Quarantine Zone.
20th century[]
- Władziu Valentino Liberace: A partygoer who got caught up in the Las Vegas outbreak was dressed as Liberace.
- Elvis Presley: A zombie in Las Vegas was dressed as Elvis, as were several people who hanged themselves in the underground mall.
- Donna Brazile: A pundit on television, portrayed by Donna Brazile, is a lightly fictionalized version of Brazile.
- Sean Spicer: Sean, portrayed by Sean Spicer, is a lightly fictionalized version of Spicer.
- The Exploited: Comprised of Stevie Ross, Terry Buchan, and later Wattie Buchan, the Exploited is a Scottish band represented on the t-shirt Lilly wore during the Götterdämmerung heist.
- Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn: Known professionally as Siegfried & Roy, Valentine was one of their tigers prior to the Las Vegas outbreak.
- Larry Fong: Larry Fong, frequent collaborator of Zack Snyder's, made a cameo appearance as a fictionalized version of himself on a poster for a magic show as the Las Vengeance heist crew made their way into the indoor path toward Bly's Casino.
- Culture Club: Culture Club's (comprised of Boy George, Roy Hay, Mikey Craig, and Jon Moss) first hit single, "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" played in the elevator of Bly's Casino during the escape after the Götterdämmerung heist.
- Joseph Campbell: Vanderohe paraphrased Joseph Campbell to toast his sense of catharsis after the Götterdämmerung heist.
- Forrest Griffin: Forrest Griffin, a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, portrayed a fictionalized version of himself training to fight zombies in a secret fight club, but was taken down by his undead opponent.
- Alexander Gerst: Alexander Gerst is a German astronaut. After he returned home from his second mission at the International Space Station, his return was included as a footnote in the news about the Las Vegas outbreak.
- Brad Pitt: Brad Pitt is a famous actor whose name Brad Cage used when renaming himself.
- Nicolas Cage: Nicolas Cage is a famous actor whose name Brad Cage used when renaming himself. He appeared on Brad's television screen as a child when Brad was watching Con Air, and Rolph also mentioned Nic Cage in relation to Gone in 60 Seconds, claiming to be a better driver than Cage's character in the film.
- Richard Nixon: Richard Nixon, the 37th President of the United States, showed up as a mask that Brad Cage wore as a disguise during the Rheingold heist.
- Zac Efron: An armored truck driver in St. Moritz was a fan of American actor Zac Efron.
