The Siegfried was the third of four one-of-a-kind safes created by famous safe designer Hans Wagner. It was the final target of the protagonists in Army of Thieves.
History[]
"In it, the hero Siegfried faces his darkest of trials in order to understand what it means to truly be afraid. He slays the dragon Fafnir, and then he slays the dwarf who raised him when confronted with his betrayal. Then he finds Brünnhilde and the two of them fall in love. After all the pain and fear, there’s a happy ending."

The inner workings of the Siegfried
At some point the Siegfried was designed by Hans Wagner. It's the third of his masterpiece safes, named after the third opera of the Der Ring des Nibelungen by Richard Wagner. The safe was owned by Bly Tanaka for use in his St. Moritz branch of Bly's Casino, believed to hold $100 million behind its seven combo locks.[1]
Siegfried heist[]
When the zombie plague swept Las Vegas, Bly Tanaka, owner of the Ring Cycle safes, scheduled to have the three European safes (the Siegfried among them) decommissioned in Geneva. Using their window of time before the transfer, Gwendoline's heist crew sought to crack the safe and steal its contents.

Sebastian attempts to open the Siegfried in a dream
Posing as an Interpol agent, Korina Dominguez informed Bly's Casino in St. Moritz that the other two safes had been cracked, and that the Siegfried in their possession was likely under threat as well. This caused the floor manager to request an earlier transfer, which was granted. An armored truck arrived to take the safe to Geneva, but instead of the proper armed guards, it was Sebastian Schlencht-Wöhnert and Gwendoline Starr who showed up to collect the safe. The casino none the wiser, Sebastian worked on cracking the safe while Gwen drove toward their escape route. After collecting their cash, they abandoned the safe on the side of the road, where Interpol soon found it.[1]
