"Oh, my god, I got you twice. I got you twice. Slow learner."

Social manipulation was the act of coersing others to do as one wished. When used especially effectively people may have felt as though they performed actions for their own desires, but this could also be done through intimidation. Social manipulation could go hand-in-hand with leadership, but was more typically used by weak leaders in place of leadership.

Skill users[]

Zeus

Zeus, as the original alpha zombie, was naturally able to compel all the alpha zombies he had converted into doing his bidding. The alphas would sacrifice themselves for the sake of Zeus' revenge, and follow him with almost worshipful reverence. This can be considered social manipulation and not leadership due to the unwillingness to follow prior to the bite, forcefully compelling followship.[1]

Martin

Martin was installed in the Götterdämmerung heist mission as Tanaka's representative, but his true goal was to leave the city with an alpha head, with or without the rest of the group. He played his role and tricked Lilly into helping him acquire Athena's head, though her conscience got the better of her and she later swapped the head for a harmless money counter.[1]

Brad Cage

Brad Cage, via intimidation, was able to perform a bank robbery at NPIB Prague, forcing nearly the entire population of the building to follow his commands. He was so effective that, despite this being a particuarly prestegious branch, he was able to single-handedly gather bags filled with cash from of the employees and make a getaway in broad daylight, all while his main goal was merely to provide a distraction for the true heist.[2]

Bly Tanaka

Bly Tanaka, using his billionaire businessman status, manipulated Scott Ward and the entire Götterdämmerung heist team into performing the heist under false pretenses. In actuality what Tanaka sought was the head of an alpha zombie, and the group's true mission was to get Martin into the city so he could find one.[1]

Beatrix

Beatrix was able to convince Korina Dominguez to turn on her team by using Korina's brother against her, and as a result Interpol captured Brad Cage, Rolph, and Gwendoline Starr - two of whom had Red Notices to their names.[2]

Kate Ward

Kate Ward successfully manipulated her father, Scott Ward, into bringing her along for the Götterdämmerung heist, wherein she hoped to find her missing friend, Geeta. He made it very clear she was not to leave his sight, and she gave him no choice but to let her attend, agreeing to his terms, but she ran off on her own regardless.[1]

Burt Cummings

Burt Cummings had a level of authority over the residents of the McCarran Quarantine Camp, which he used to sate his taste for power by forcing power-based interactions with residents of the camp. His use of social manipulation was predicated on his employment rather than personal skill.[1]
