"Don't ever touch my saw again, okay?"
Vanderohe to Burt Cummings, Army of the Dead
Vanderohe's rescue saw was a tool capable of cutting through car doors and cement walls, which he used to save people during his time as a member of the Las Vengeance search and rescue team. It was also effective as a weapon. It was used in the opening titles of Army of the Dead, then again during the escape from the Götterdämmerung chamber. It will appear again in Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas.
History[]
Vanderohe used this saw during search and rescue missions with Las Vengeance, on one occasion cutting through a car door to save people who were trapped inside. He also used it to cut through zombies when necessary. At some point during the wars, Van decorated the saw with a representation of the Shiva Omkar.[1]
When the zombie wars ended and the search and rescue team disbanded, Van buried the saw in the desert to close that chapter of his life. Later, when invited to regroup for the Götterdämmerung heist, Vanderohe dug up the saw and brought it back into Las Vegas. He never used it this time, but instead, Lilly took it to cut a hole in a wall after Martin had locked the rest of the team in the Götterdämmerung vault. It was left behind, where it was later destroyed in the nuclear strike on Las Vegas.[2]
