Wildfire[1] was a zombie horse that acted as Zeus' steed. Wildfire was portrayed by a real horse named Ace in Army of the Dead. Gabe Bartalos created the practical zombie suit worn by Ace in the movie.
Biography[]
Wildfire was a police horse in Las Vegas prior to the Las Vegas outbreak.[2] During the outbreak Wildfire was bitten and converted into a zombie and was taken in by Zeus as his personal steed. Even as a zombie, Wildfire's cognitive abilities did not seem to decline as human shamblers' do, so it was most likely Zeus who bit him.[3]
Abilities[]
- Exceptional physiology: As a horse, Wildfire was already naturally much stronger and faster than even a strong human.
- Zombie physiology: Though Wildfire's mind didn't seem to degrade after taking a zombie bite, his body became more resistant to physical trauma like any zombie's.
- Infection manipulation: Wildfire's bite would infect its victim with the zombie plague, transforming them into a shambler.
